Wow is it really coming up for 4 months since I started my job, where has time gone, still not feeling much fitter, still tired from the 5 mile walk each day, but I do not complain too much, I just think of the poor victorian workers and miners who would walk at least double that across heath and moors for long hard day at pit.
One thing I have realsied is how all those hours reading through indexes and the hundreds of hours of transcription work I carried out have helped me with my job, I sometimes surprise a number of customers when they find out that I have spelt thier rather unusal names correctly, although I need some work to understand the Eastern European spellings!
I am thinking about a surname bingo game to help pass the day, not sure it the data protection would allow that though!
I had a dealing with someone with surname of Quatermass a while ago, I am still looking forward to speaking to someone called Frogbrook
I am still thinking of practicing a soft Scots accent, I can claim Scottish ancestry , my Great Grandfather was Scottish, the Henry/Hendry lad who lied about his age to join navy if you remember that one, reason being is that I am getting quite a few rebellious Scottish customers who do not like the fact they call the Bank of Scotland only to be answered by an Englishman!
