My maternal grandfather is James Brown DAVIES (16 April 1902 - 1946), born in Saltcoats Scotland and died in Johannesburg South Africa. His parents were David DAVIES and Elizabeth BROWN or BOWEN.
I have James' birth certificate, which was found in births for 1902 in the district of Old Ardrossan (Scotland) in the County of Ayr, page 20 no. 58. David's occupation is listed as a bricklayer.
I believe that David was born 20 Oct. 1872 in Springburn, Lanark, Scotland. He had a brother Thomas, born in 1874 in Cambuslang, Scotland.
His father was Thomas DAVIES. His mother was Selina BEVAN or PRICE, married in Swansea (Wales) on 26 Feb 1866. I have no further information about them, and it is this connection I am mainly pursuing.
I am researching all of these ancestors: DAVIES, DEMBSKEY, DOEMSKI, BROWN/BOWEN, HENWICK, FORSYTH, HILL, DYKES, DENNIS
Thank you for your time.
Evan
