Researching my Grandma Lily (Lilian) Robinson nee Bashford I came across Sargeant Bashford from Lye. His son John Henry Bashford was killed at the age of six as he looked for his dad. He fell into banksman Sargeant's workplace (mine pit?) and died several feet from where he actually fell. Here is an account - http://www.cradleylinks.co.uk/bashford.htm

I would like to hear from anyone who is researching this family, I'm not even sure that Sargeant is in my bloodline.

got the 1901 census looks like it is that Sargeant Bashford
married to an Elizabeth

will connect up and look for marriage for Sargeant and Elizabeth.


Sargeant is a Banksman on that census.
