ARC TBC Mary Ann Clee, b 1851, Dudley

Mary Ann is my great grandmother, daughter of Edward Clee and Sindania Tromans.
Thomas Clee my grandfather was born in Dudley in 1873 son of Mary Ann but the birth certificate indicates father unknown.
I believe Mary Ann later married twice, firstly to William Jones a widower in 1883. They had four children, Mary Ann, John, Lily and Edith these would be my grandfathers half brother and sisters. Mary Ann Jones as she was then later married Samuel Tromans in 1901, they had no children.
I now have run into a complete black hole. I was hoping that I might be able to get back further although I am unable to find others who have a similar situation.
Any ideas

Thanks to everyone, this the first time I have used your site and I am very impressed.
You have at least confirmed what I have been working on for a couple of years now. Unfortunately, because my grand father Thomas Clee was born out of wedlock with no known father, I am after all taking the name Clee from the maternal side of Edwards family.
It is interesting that when my grandfather married in 1895 to Elizabeth Cook, he put down his fathers name as Edward, a chainmaker. It would appear that Edward Clee and Sindania brought him up as if he was their son. If you look at the 1991 census Thomas is living with his mother Mary Ann, although his name has been transcribed wrongly as Jones. The wrong transcription has proved common place in the census records as when written down quickly Clee can appear as an abbreviation for ditto.
Ideally I would have loved to have found a connection to his half siblings.
I have one living aunt who seems to recall a Joseph Tromans who was a chainmaker, although I am not sure where he would fit in.

Hi ....HWDave let me know if you would like me to put on Bcc that you Connect to Thomas Clee
I can add that in notes then if anyone connects they can contact you via this forum
you never know..
sometimes you know it is worth adding a note too re that Joseph Tromans you mentioned
as family remember stuff that often checks out.

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?
Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to the Brickwalls Archived section

It remains an ongoing exercise, though I understand the need to move into the archived section.
Thanks
