If anyone is visiting Dudley Archives..would they be kind enough to look at a bapt. for a John (Evan) Ellis 1894 at Our Lady and St.Thomas of Canterbury (Joseph St.Dudley)
note by mod.....Its on microfilm 497 or 498 at Dudley Archives
I did have this info at one time!!but some how lost it. John was born c.1852 , and if I remember correctly ... the latin words that appeared on this entry..seemed to
suggest that this bapt.. seemed to appear at home.(A late one)
He died at the Sedgley Workhouse in Sept.qtr 1894(buried St James Eve Hill)
His 2nd. wife Bridget (at or near time of his death) was a Catholic.( from Newspaper reports, Bridget appears to have had a strong Catholic influence over Children from John Ellis's
1st marriage
I don't think John or siblings when young, were ever baptised(Mother never married)
