Is there a problem with the links database?
It say's there are 89 links, but I've clicked on each category and it say's:
We currently have 0 links within this category.

I then tried to use the form to add links and each time got the following warning message:

Site address not entered: please go back and enter address.

Warning: mysql_close(): no MySQL-Link resource supplied in /home/sites/genealogyforum.co.uk/public_html/links/add.php on line 94

I did enter the URL, so not sure why it won't accept .....

:) Hi Nikki

I had the same problem -I'm not even sure this site is active -there's simple queries with hundreds of views that have been sitting here for 3 or 4 years with no answers not even from the Admin who appears to offer no help or suggestions. I'm begining to wonder at the purpose of this site is everything seems in place for family history but its members seem only to post and no-one's giving answers :?

Do you think we've wandered into the Tardis -is Doctor Who out there? Is ANYBODY out there?

Lets all join hands and try to make contact with the living!

And once we've done that, we can continue the search for the dead!!!!

The site was moved to a new server within the last month. The server config on the new server is different to the old one, which has caused an issue with the links database. The subdomain is still there, but not publically linked from the main site until I get the time to fix it. That'll happen as soon as I get the time between work commitments.

Forums need to be visited regularly by members not just to see if someone is helping them but also to see if they can help somebody else.
Forums should be living things not a graveyard of surnames and unknown, uncomunicating absent members!

The site ranks highly on google and gets decent traffic. If people choose not to post, there's very little I can do about it. It's not a commercial venture, so I'm not really bothered how heavily it gets used. I'm sure people do get benefit from it though, and where a subject like genealogy is concerned, even a tiny bit of information can make a huge difference.

That said, since I upgraded the forum software a couple of weeks ago, spam memberships have become less of an issue, and genuine users seem to be signing up more often....
