So completed my first week, can not say more as It could be sack able offence. Enjoyed it imensly, talk about intensive learning and information overload, however, one thing that annoyed me all the women, I am then only male out of 3 candidates and 5 instructors, asked me at different times if I still lived with my mother..> WHY????

Only thing I can think of is I am so fat and ugly that they think that I can only be living at home with mother as no one would be that mental to marry me, well my ex was so I guess there was someone.

They probably want to know if you have your own house so they can make a move on you!

Probably true what Northern Lass is saying Andrew. Women can be conaiving,coneiving? devious!! Take a tip from someone who know's these things, take no notice even if you are fat and ugly you're still a human being don't you ever forget that !!!

My first thought was I do hope you responded with something like "Why, do you?"

But another thought strikes, maybe (and this is only a suggestion not a statement so please don't take offence) they feel that you are used to having things done for you and might not be contributing to the 'domestic chores' of the office.

Equally it may be that they're simply not used to knowing a single man living alone to be so well turned out.

That's all very well SRD but it doesn't alter the fact that Andrew is having problems with self confidence. The title of this thread? "Am i really that fat and ugly".
That says it all. Andrew doesn't really give a jot about if people think he lives at home with mommy. The core of the problem is in the title !!

I'm sure it's nothing to do with what you "think" you may look like.

Is it possibly because you've told them you're not married, so they assume you live with your parents. Not many single people these days can afford a mortgage. Or maybe you look so smart that they think your mom must be looking after you.

I know lots of "beautiful" people who I wouldn't give the time of day to.

YEs correct people.

I do not even want to dress down for dress down day because the few old comfortable clothes I have just make me look like a slob, so I told them "I am dressing down, I do not have a tie on!"

Interesting to see the perspective on why women say this. problem is all the women who spoke to me have husbands and partners. Water Water everywhere but not a drop to drink, so I have to make do with consoling myself with the free hot chocolate and coffee from the vending machine.

Still having said all that, its brilliant over all, they are all very friendly and helpful, I feel like I've been there for months, but I have to just try and get over being too self concious .

It is hard to get over feeling self concious...
I used to walk with my head down, I still cant look at myself in the mirror at the hairdressers, I know sometimes annoying for them.

Appearance is only outside, it is what is within.
Its just trying to believe that.

Good luck with your job and may be the job, confidence you gain and meeting new people will help you.

Isn't that the way Jo? The good looking and attractive people are the ones who when they look in the mirror or are being filmed tend to look away.Unsure about their looks.I'm the same as you Jo.

You are so right Rob , that is why I refuse to have my photograph taken or hide behind others when it is being taken . Do not worry Andrew they are just teasing,and i am afraid some women can be very cruel Jo is right its what is within that matters .

I dont like my photo taken...
But I have and do show them. Its in real life, thats what is hard!
Any person can be cruel but I think this is more about how Andrew feels about himself and some trivial comments made. Just made him feel this way.
