Jane Rickards

Hi... I posted request a few years ago and have now substantiated, by certificate & censuses the following-
a Jane Rickards married Joseph Beard sometime between 1861-1871; she was born c 1847
Joseph and Jane went on to have children Herbert Thomas Beard 1872 (my maternal grandfather); William Henry Beard 1875; Clarinda Beard 1876; Joseph Beard 1878.
I can substantiate all of the above and that the mother/wife's name was definitely Jane formerly Rickards, however I cannot find Jane & Joseph's marriage or Jane's birth.
I'm thinking that she maybe had been married prior to her marriage to Joseph Beard and that her Rickards is not her birth name.
Any suggestions a to how to find out??????
PLEASE HELP.... have spent loads on certificates & still drawing a blank

You don't tell us the details of the census records giving Jane's place of birth which might help find her in the 1851 census. Also, is there a 1911 census record, if so it should give number of years married.

She shows in all censuses she is on as being born 1847 in Worcester, no district or extra information showing.

In the 1871 census Joseph Beard and his wife Jane Beard are showing as visitors at an address in Dudley. I have found one marriage for 1865 in Dudley and as their first son (my Granddad) was born Dudley, in 1872, I have requested the certificate, stating the wife's name as 'Jane formerly Rickards' and will see what happens.... watch this space.... I'm hoping it might be the right one & maybe shed some light on the past of said Jane Beard formerly Rickards
