Could anyone please help me sort this family out, We have Benjamin Garbett and 2nd wife Ann with children , by 1851 Benjamin is dead and we have another daughter Sarah age 19 who was not with them in 1841 , I have searched & searched today but can't find Sarah on the 1841 census , so wonder if anyone else could help me find her please. Daniel was married in 1847 and found him , Elizabeth I can't find so think she will be married, Timothy I can't find on the 1851 census so think he must have died and have that to check.

I would much appreciate any help finding Sarah on the 1841 census please.

Hi Peterd

Thank you for the marriage for Benjamin & Ann I apprecaite you taking the time to find it for me. I am trying to make sure I don't have two different Benjamin's :? , I have him married to Mary and their children and then have Ann is 2nd wife wirh more children , or is it me grasping at straws and it is two different family's :?

HI Annie

I am confused ...

cos if he remarries and is with 2nd wife on the 1851 then is it her dau?
from her marriage...

and if so then wouldnt be on 1841 with him.

you could check marriages to see if some clues for Benjamin on both
ie signs
or widower on 2nd
or witnesses

Hi Northern Lass

:? Confused , I am with this lot , Sarah I would say is Ann's daughter but where she is in 1841 is another mystery Sarah would only have been around 9 years,:- peterd found this marriage for me

BENJAMIN GARBETT & ANN SPENCER - Marriage: 31 MAR 1829 Saint Phillips, Birmingham,

I've been searching for her most of the day , tried all sorts of variations for the name , I found this christening :-

SARAH GARBETT Christening: 10 JUN 1832 Coseley In Sedgley, Stafford, Father: BENJAMIN GARBETT Mother: ANN

I don't know what else I can rey to find her, any suggestions would be most welcome. :(

Annie, this may have nothing at all to do with anything but, I'm gonna post anyway :?

1841: Dawley Green, Dawley Magna, Shropshire
Thomas Garbett 50 Head Collier
Sarah Garbett 25 (says 45 on Image) Wife
George Garbett 30 Collier
William Garbett 25 Jeweller
Thomas Garbett 20 B.Smith
Matthew Garbett 20 Miner
Benjamin Garbett 15 Miner
Joseph Garbett 15 Miner
Mary Garbett 14
Sarah Garbett 13
Sarah Garbett 9

It says "yes" to all born in county but then it says yes to everyone on the page :?

Surely they wouldn't name 2 living daughters Sarah? Could this family be related somehow?

Hi Melosa

Thank you so much for this census , I think that Sarah could be the one I am looking for and agree I don't think they would name 2 living daughters the same name, so he could be Benjamins brother , I can't thank you enough for finding her.

Peterd thank you also for the baptisms you have found , I had found some but not them all and I did not know about William.

Thank you again both of you for taking the time to help me.
