Florence Minnie Boswell was my Great Grandmother, she married John William Thorpe, had 8 children and immigrated to Canada in 1926, the rest of her family stayed in England and I would love to find anyone related. This forum also helped me discover George Boswell's parents whom I never would have found, so Thanks for such a great site
Also thanks to this site, I would have never known what Black Country was and their accent, it just brings me closer to my ancestors and learn what they would have been like

Yes that is their marriage certificate, I found that from ukcensus, I don't have a copy of the certificate itself though. I am having a very hard time finding any information on John William Thorpe, according to my Mother, her grandfather never talked about his mother, she thinks that she died when he was very young and she doesn't know anything about his parents. I have found his name and dob 1887 in records but there is no way for me to confirm that it's actually him. He was born 1887 and died 1953 in Sprucedale, Ont Canada and that's all I know. I would really love to meet someone that was related to them, I don't even know where to look lol

she was born April 1887 West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England
died 1956 Sprucedale, Ontario, Canada
she married John William Thorpe b. 1887 d. 1956 Sprucedale, Ontario, Canada in 1908 Worksop
They immigrated to Canada in 1927 6 May Age: 40 Arrival-Quebec, Canada, departed Liverpool England
They had 8 children
George Arthur 1909-1964
Dorothy 1910 – 1974- my grandmother
John Ernest 1912 – 1967
Hilda, May 1915 – 1994
Joseph 1917 – unknown
Florence 1919 – unknown
Stanley 1922 – 1944- died in WW2 France
Ada 1929 – unknown
I am looking for any info on John William Thorpe, I have searched records but nothing confirms and my Mother doesn't have any info on him either, apparently he never talked about his family

Raine you have John Ernest born 1912. I have seen the passenger list and he is listed as Ernest. Looking for his birth it looks like he was registered as Ernest. Can you confirm please?

I have a copy of his death certificate and it states John Ernest, so that's where I got it from, I'll ask my Mom and see if she knows though

I saw this too while researching my family tree, I'm just not sure if that is him, my Mom doesn't recall him ever talking about his family, she said that Minnie would always receive letter from England but she doesn't think John ever did, however, on the Ships log it mentioned next of kin as sister, Mrs. Roberts, 42, Beach Rd. Armthorpe, Doncaster, this could be his sister and her married name, but I'm lost without a first name to go on
