I just noticed the "M" stuck in the names in 1891. It will be interesting to see that marriage.

Perhaps William's birth is down as Merrick? And they may have reverted to Merrick as surname later so it could be complicated.

More complicated as here are Merrick family in 1851 and quite clearly Murray on original

If it is only the census entry then it may just be a case of "Merrick" in a thick Mayo accent. The e might sound like a u, and the end of the word be swallowed. If there are birth certs though that won't really wash.

I can't find anything else for Catherine, and nothing for Robert.
