Is anybody buying a poppy? I just ordered three. I wanted one myself and my two daughters jumped on the bandwagon.

I 've worn the same one for the last 10 years. Why replace it when it still looks ok?

I thought I might get a block of wood, drill a hole in it and make a stand for the poppy. Then I could get it out each year - I feel a bit daft wearing a poppy here unless I've just come back from the UK at the right time.
In fact, I'm thinking about a "spot" for it in my house. I just bought a traditional Icelandic Christmas tree - small wooden one which can be decorated with green stuff. I would like a place to put that as well, and at other times of the year I could drag out different vases and stuff. Or get an aspidistra
