Generally known as Fred Wheldon.

Don't know if the folks here actually know he was.
He was a famous footballer and played for England, Blues, Villa & Albion.
If anyone on here is connected to him you should be very proud!
He left Villa because he became a pub landlord and at that time (1900) the Villa board would not employ such a player.
Most football books give his dob as 01 Nov 1869, Langley Green

Brought from Birmingham (Small Heath at the time) for £350 & Sold to WBA for £100
