Take a look at this young mans page if you don't already know about him
https://www.facebook.com/StephensStory

He is in hospital with terminal cancer and is raising money for others.
It doesn't get any more decent that that does it.

he coughed up a tumour yesterday so his breathing is a little better but
as he says..

Overall my time here will still be cut significantly short by my illness (...but I've known that anyway for a while anyway). Coughing up that tumour has helped hugely, but headlines of 'on the mend' are shortsighted and perhaps misleading- I am still ravaged by tumours elsewhere that will and are currently harming me. But with my breathing fine and no other acute medical problems at the moment, we can optimistically look forward to a period of 'future' that at the beginning of the week seemed impossible. It still might not be long (fingers crossed it is though) but due to the circumstances, I feel very fortunate to be here, and every second alive feels very special!!

Every second for him counts

So enjoy Today because we are for the most part in a much better place than that young man is
and I for one have been humbled by his story and his fight for his own life seconds and for helping those yet to fall foul of cancer.

If you can give please do

Thanks

Stephen died yesterday Wednesday 14th May

His mum said this on his facebook page
"My heart is bursting with pride but breaking with pain for my courageous, selfless, inspirational son who passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 14th May. The ongoing support and outpouring of love for Stephen will help greatly at this difficult time, in the same way as it helped Stephen throughout his journey. We all know he will never be forgotten, his spirit will live on, in all that he achieved and shared with so many.

Love,
His mom x"

What an incredible young man Stephen was.
It reminds me of that line in the Shawshank redemption film

Get busy living or get busy dying

Stephen was dying but made the most out of every bit of life he had left,
and inspired many people around the world, whilst raising a huge amount of money for those
in need.

RIP Stephen you have been someone who has touched my heart and I don't know you
but will miss you

xx

That's lovely Jan

He was a true inspiration x

Isn't it always the way though, the ones who are suffering the most never complain and make the most of what they have

Stephen Sutton said....

`I don`t see the point in measuring life in terms of time anymore.. I`d rather measure life in terms of making a difference` ..

So Today Friday 30th May 2014 @ 11am please give a Thumbs up for Stephen do something that makes you and others happy in his memory

Stephens Mother said ....

"I want people to have the chance to come and pay their last respects to Stephen.

"It is important that the vigil at Lichfield Cathedral has an opening and a public farewell, so I invite people especially to come and be part of these two moments and remember Stephen.

"Stephen wanted to put the fun in funeral, so don't feel you need to wear black. It's a celebration of his life and achievements."

She added: "If you can't make it, remember to take a moment at 11am on Friday morning to give a Thumbs up for Stephen.

"This could be via Thunderclap.it, #ThumbsupforStephen, or you could give the thumbs up to a stranger, have a cup of tea and a slice of cake, think a positive thought, clap, cheer, or even perform a random act a kindness.

"Do something that makes you and others happy in Stephen's memory."

From the Lichfield Cathedral website
http://www.lichfield-cathedral.org

"A Vigil for Stephen Sutton

A vigil for Stephen Sutton will be held at Lichfield Cathedral on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 May. Stephen's body will lie in a place of honour in the cathedral, ahead of his private family funeral on Friday 30 May.

The cathedral will be open for people to pay their respects from 7pm until midnight on Thursday 29 May and from 7am until 3pm on Friday 30 May."
