As we all know the 1911 census has now been released.

I also understand there will be no census for 1931 (destroyed by fire), 1941 (cos of war) with the 1951 to be released in 2052 (pictures oneself still bashing away at the 'computer in an OAP home.....)

Now the 1921 census's not gonna be released until 2022 which seems to be a long "gap".

Why can't they release the 1921 census now? I don't see what the hush-hush is all about? Any ideas folks? Would be a nice boon for us genealogists/researchers if it were released now, would'nt it?!! I don't see what security, etc's got to do with it? A fair proportion of them have erm, gone on to better climes by now have'nt they?

Cheers

David

Hi David, 1921 may seem a long time ago but still living memory to some folk. Dad was born in 1926 so not long after. I think you have to reckon -would you want all your own family info availalbe for all to see from when you were born? I think most people would probably say no. I was not convinced that 1911 should have been released just yet , although I am guilty of viewing it
