ARC TBC - eade/skidmore.brick wall

hi,this has been moved to brick wall but the benjamin skidmore i have been looking for for quite a few years,i have found a bit more info.he crossed from rhode island to stratford ontario august 25 1925 to go to to his father william.he also shows up on a 1935 voters list with a wife in stratford it only lists her as mrs b skidmore,so he has remarried between 1924 and 1935.two questions 1 how can i find out who she was and 2 i cant find a death for him.can any of you help in my continuing quest? its only taken me five years to get this far.

hi jimmy he was born in 1881 in dudley.

on that crossing it states w for widower

hi his first wife had died when he made that crossing to canada,its after then when i am looking for him or his second wife.thanks kevin

he is in canada in 1935 on a voters list at his fathers house so i presume he went in 1925 and stayed.

thats a 10 year gap so you just cannot presume that ?

no thats true but he left with no money or very little 3.50 i think it said on his crossing document and after he abandons his kids i cant see a reason for him to return.i do think canada is the place to find him.

Did he abandon them or arrange for family to help as he couldnt look after 2 young girls as if he abandon them why turn up at his parent 10 years down the line and stop ?

the girls were sent to england with his sister in law the three boys were left to fend for themselves,the 1925 border crossing states he was going to see his father in stratford,he died in 1933 and his death record states he lived with his son benjamin and his wife,so i think he must have remarried between 1925 and 1933,he is also there on a voters list in 1935. kevin
