Checked on BCC to see if there were any other Burkins (we have just added Priscilla Burkins, m to Charles Street.

Found one other - George Henry here:
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... ins-Family

Thinking they must be related (there are very few Burkins in Dudley), had a look and found:

1861, Pitts (?) Meadow, Dudley
Joseph Burkins, 35, Nail Forger
Lucy, 32
Rebecca, 12
George Henry, 10
Philip, 6
All born Dudley

Must be George Henry on BCC. Name Philip is significant as it occurs regularly in this family.

1851, Mamble, Dudley
Joseph Burkins, 25, Nailer
Lucy, 23, Nailer
Rebecca, 3, Scholar
George, 3 Mo
All born Dudley

In 1871 & 1881 Joseph is a widower, lodging with other families.

Can't find his bapt, but marriage confirms his father.

23 Feb 1847, St John, Dudley:
Joseph Burkins, Bach, Nailer, Dudley, father Richard Burkins, Nailer
Lucy Marsh, sp, Dudley, father George Marsh, Nailer, deceased
Witn: John Marsh, Mary Ann Pearson

I can't find the family in 1841, when Joseph would possibly still be with his parents - remember he married 1847 - but have Richard (the father) in 1861- he was born Abt 1799 in Pelsall.
This is the connection to Priscilla Burkins (m to Charles Street):

Richard Burkins b Abt 1799, Pelsall, m Rebecca Silvers (b Abt 1802, Dudley), 27 July 1821, Kingswinford.
Their son Richard, b Abt 1833, Dudley, m 1852, St Thomas, Dudley, to Sarah Jewkes, b Abt 1835, Dudley.
Richard and Sarah's daughter Priscilla, b Abt 1874, m Charles Street.

Can anyone find Richard Burkins and family in any other census - I can only find them in 1861.
I have my doubts about Rebecca Silvers being born in Dudley - only bapt on IGI is 7 Sep 1803 in Bromsgrove, d of Edward & Priscilla, perhaps if we can find her in other census she may give other birthplace?

Interestingly, the only marriage I can find is 24 Apr 1803, Kingswinford, Edward Silvers & Priscilla Chapman.
There are no bapts on IGI for any other children of Edward & Priscilla Silvers - not a common combination of names: do Edward & Priscilla live long enough to appear in the census?

These two burials are on FreeReg:
18 Dec 1803, St Thomas, Dudley, Edward Silvers

8 May 1859, St Thomas, Dudley,
Priscilla Silvers, 87, Dudley

Can we find Priscilla in 1851?

Still looking for Priscilla in 1751 (and 1841).
I also have lots of census to add - possibly more connections.

1851, Greystone Street, Dudley
Presila Silvers, widow, 79, Nailer, born Lye Waste, Old Swinford
Henry Berkins, grandson, 29, Nailer, born Dudley

I think that confirms her as mother of Rebecca and therefore wife of Edward
