I have her birth certificate (unfortunately just the short one, issued when she died - for burial) she was born 6 Sept 1899, Dudley, and died 22 Apr 1989 - burial section D in Dudley Borough Cemetery. Looking at this for my aunt (my mothers brothers wife) - she told me years ago her grandmother was a Shakespeare, but has only recently taken an interest, She married a Leonard Street (must do a separate post for the Street family, as there are a number of connections). Family info says they lived near Vicar Steet/ Constitution Hill area.
This is her in 1901:
Spring Gardens, Dudley
Joseph Shakespeare, 38, Pipe Caster
Elizabeth, 40, born Cradley, Worcestershire
William, 7
John, 4
Harriet E, 1
Rest born Dudley
1891, Fountain Street
Joseph Shakespeare, 26, Pipe Moulder
Elizabeth, 27, born Cradley, Worcestershire
Joseph W, 7 week
Rest born Dudley
I am sure this is them in 1911 (I think 'Lissie' aged 12, is Harriet Eliza)
Joseph Shakespeare, 48, Ironworker, (Casting Pipes - in pencil), born Woodside
Lizzie, 53
William, 17, Grocers Assistant
John, 13, School Boy
Lena, 8 School Girl
Lissie, 12, School ''
I think we actually have the following children:
Joseph William b 1891, d 1892
William, b 1894
John, b 1897
Harriet Eliza, b 6 Sept 1899
Lena Elizabeth, b 1902
All b Dudley

In 1891 they are living in the same household as Joseph Brown.
I wonder if Josephs father is this William who connects to Dennis

I know a number of trees on @ncestry have that William as his father (think that William was also a pipe moulder) - need to look at Joseph's marriage.

Don't know where William was in 1851, but notice they have a son Jabez born 1850 who must have died as they have a later Jabez.
Incindentally, I think the Hall Street they lived is is not the present day Hall St in Dudley (the one that leads from top of King St (near Bus Station) towards Rowley Regis, but was, in fact, in Woodside - it is now Hallchurch Road.
