The Royal Mint wants feedback on whether they should change to the polymer notes that Australia has been using for 25 years.

Australia currently prints polymer money for 29 other countries but would simply provide the expertise for the Royal Mint during the change over.

One big advantage is they would reduce your notes to the same size as other world currencies.

It is pretty hard to miss that our bank notes are plastic.

The transparent security windows kind of gives it away.

You can't tear them or put permanent folds in them or destroy them in the washing machine. (Although some of the earliest ones would shrink if put in hot water).
