Hello. I hope I've posted this in the right place. I am trying to find out what was at the address 223 Earls Court Road Kensington and Chelsea in 1945. I think I have found family member on the electoral roll in 1945. The address appears to have about 75 people registered there and they are all women. Can anyone throw any light on this please? Thank you.

I don't know about then but nowadays 223 Earls Court Road, also known as Park House, is a modern built female only hostel see

http://www.trivago.co.uk/london-38715/hotel/park-house-women-s-1251688 "Founded at the end of the Second World War, to re-house elderly people bombed out of their homes during the Blitz"
referring to the company that runs the premises.

Thank you very much for that. That explains why there were so many women listed. But it also proves that it's not the family member I thought it might be. Just the same name. Oh, well onwards and upwards.
