Sun's shining here - not too bad. Although autumn starts officially here on sunday, sooooo.....
We've had a good summer here, although we could have done with a little more rain :silent: Did I really say that? I do get bored with monotonous weather though, be it rain, shine, snow or whatever - after a week of the same I'm ready for a change!

It's been a lovely summer for growing stuff! Our allotment is bursting with goodies right now, despite the slow start due to the exceptionally cold spring.
Now harvesting: cabbages, salads, tomatoes, potatoes, runner beans French beans and climbing beans, raspberries, plums, courgettes, radishes, carrots and beetroot. (Personally, I can't stand beetroot, but Ian thought it would be a good idea to grow some, and it has grown like crazy!)

A superb Summer to lift our spirit. For nearly a decade the summers here in UK have been non existant, a few days of warm in spring, rain, rain, overcast, rain and more rain for next 2 months, then a week of nice weather, more cold rainy days than sunny warm until September, when we have Indian summer for a few weeks, then the snow kicks in.

SO to have week after week after week of superb warmth with not much rain is just like how I remember summers were. Those of us in UK, past 10 years leaves only starting to fall off trees in late October early november, where as 20 years ago I remember walking around in thick clothes and jumpers in early September with leaves totally stripped bear of foliage come October.

Yeah, I remember that one - especially sticking my feet in the paddling pool to cool off - were there no hosepipe bans then?

!976? I remember Taxi Driver "You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talking to? You talkin' to me? Well. I'm the only one here." and Southampton beat United 1-0 in the cup final but the weather? I read somewhere that 1977 the jubilee year was hot.

And then again, June 2nd 1975 we had snow (and O-level year for me).

We have had rotten weather this summer. Rain and more rain. And now the first real autumn depression is en route. Meanwhile, my husband has been on the opposite side of the country and keeps posting about sunshine and blueberry-picking. Just not fair!
