Certainly could be FS....can we investigate bit further via the census
and I can do the look up too will add this...but only visit Smethwick once month ish....

so lets see if we can crack it before then...
occupation of father and son would be helpful

but the area living and the occup and widow on 1871 living same place
I am happy if you want to sort this on the tree

Well I have done the look ups ie 2 marriages one for an Ann Smith (actually a Bale as she is a widow ) and one for an Ann Partridge

It is the Ann Partridge I am sure.
But the confusing thing is that a Thomas Gill is down as bach on both of the Ann marriages
father is thomas on both
one Thomas is an Engineer
one is a coal miner.

that is him a Widower sure of it but how odd Bach on marriage

so am posting both marriages
let's see what we think then add to the tree
perhaps find the other one too!

Rite let's get this one sorted .... I hate not having it added to the tree any look ups I do!

So we have 2 Thomas Gills b abt 1846.

We need the above family on the 1861 to see if there is a William there born maybe 1851 (later so misses census)
cos think that is the key to our Thomas who married Louisa Jeavons
if he did
cos on that 1871 he is living next door?
same hsehold?
as a William Gill and wife Dinah?
that must be his brother
and the only one I think from memory with bro William is that one here........

The one above I dont think had a William bro in 1861.

Also can we find this one above in 1871
I think he is in Quarry bank area then with wife Esther/Edna she is I believe a Rutter as that name is I think on that page
but it was late last nite so might have been wrong.

The only marriage it can be is to a Louisa Jeavons
and a Louisa Gill dies in 1869
the other marriages that are poss betw 1861-1871 are...

footnote.....the Dob 1854 matches the Ann Partridge on marriage with the Ann in census
also the name Samuel is I think her brother? but is on marriage as a Witness
They call one of their kids Samuel later in a census
