Hi Deb do you know of this site
http://www.bmsgh.org/index.htmlit gives you marriages in the area...coverage is varied but it is truly an excellent site
and updated all the time
now this site gives you the church and I visit Dudley archives and Sandwell archives so can do look ups for you
you need to add any look ups to that list under look up requests
there is a thread at the top called Dudley and Smethwick(Sandwell same thing)
put it on the end of that thread
I need the day, month and year
or
need the entry no which is the last number on the marriage entry ....on the site that I just gave you the link for see here....Just using this one for eg
1849
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
DUNCOMBE Powell GROOM Mary A Wednesbury, St Bartholomew Sandwell Register Office 32/2/156
So 156 is the entry no ...in the register at St Barts Wednesbury
these ones are only after 1837 pre that it is the parish regis at the archives
Willenhall .....is I think Wolverhampton or Staffs.... and this site is really good
http://www.wolverhamptonarchives.dial.p ... isters.htmscroll down and it tells you what records they have at W'ton and which ones at staffs
They say...
"Where are the registers ?
All of the registers for Anglican churches in Wolverhampton,
if they are not at the church itself, should be deposited at the
Staffordshire Record Office. Wolverhampton Archives & Local Studies has microfilm/fiche copies for a number of local parishes. Many of the earlier registers (often pre-1813) have also been published - we have copies of all printed registers produced by the Staffordshire Parish Registers Society.
Our Guide to Church of England Parish Registers (PDF file) has details of all our holdings."
