Can we find more on this Gentleman pls

Partridge Matthew- 8714- Pte- 2nd Worcs- 26 September 1916- 34 Tipton Road

I've got tons of stuff on the Tipton Partridges Jan - most of them are related - I'll do this one

I think this is Matthew Enoch Partridge, born 1893 in Tipton. He is the son of Matthew Enoch Partridge and Clara Parkes. He married Fanny Brown in 1913 at St Michael in Tividale. They had one daughter, Clara Elizabeth Partridge, born in 1913. I have never been able to find a death registered for Matthew - this is probably the reason. I think Fanny remarries in 1919 to Joseph Fisher, at St Michaels Church. There is only one birth registered in the area for a Matthew Partridge between 1880 and 1916.

Can anyone else find him in the military records??

Just had a look on his marriage details and in 1913 he is living in Tipton Road. Can't even have a look at the Electoral Roll for Tipton Road because for some unknown reason, these records for Tividale aren't held at Sandwell until about 1946.

That right - it was his daughter Clara's second birthday

Yes, I have seen it. Do you own it ? We would have liked to have used it on BCC, but the person who sent it to me can't remember who sent it to him, so we don't have authorisation.

yes , its in my collection, i sent a copy to andy johnson who is researching tipton men in world war one . you can use the image on bcc, does bcc want a scan of his memorial plaque?

Do you actually own the postcard? if not who does?
I can transcribe it no worries and add in notes and if you own it I can add the actual image courtesy of you so thanks!

the date of death on booklet is 1916

but you say it is 1915 so I will amend

the scan of memorial did you take that photo if so yes pls

i own the postcard , it came from a auction in dudley some years back. the lot included one of matthew partridge medals and his memorial plaque
