on the 16th november 1917 the 3rd worcesters entered the trenches facing Auchy astride the railway line until the 23rd november.

casualties november 16th -23rd 1 killed , 3 wounded

he is in the book 'the fallen of oldbury , langley and warley 1914-18 , langley local history society

write up from two articles in the oldbury weekly news.

when war broke out he was a reservist working at accles and pollock and was sent to france almost at once. he had been wounded twice and slightly gassed once. also had son samuel with emily
