On the BCC site there is a Sarah A Baker born 1844, daughter of Edward Baker and Ann Portman. Attached to her name are two children, Daniel and Mary A Holt.
I have checked on the West Midlands BMD site and there is a marriage for a Sarah Baker to a Henry A Holt in 1864. The family is clearly visible in 1871 and 1881 with Kingswinford links. Can you check that this however is the correct Sarah Baker.

There is a Sarah A Baker marrying William Smith 1863 St John Kates Hill. Sarah A and William are there on subsequent censuses, and by 1891 have taken in an orphan great niece Mary Matilda Baker (given here as Matilda Mary) who is still with Sarah in 1901. The family are based in Netherton - which is in line with the Baker/Portman family on BCC.

Can you have another look, please.

Can you add the Marriage of Wm Smith and Sarah A Baker for a look up please, that will give the name of her father

So if this Sarah's father is a John, it cannot be the right connection on BCC.

Sarah A Baker link is a recent discovery for me so I've not headed out to snowy Dudley to check the marriage yet. My starting part was Mary Matilda Baker (born late 1884) and she is with Sarah A Smith from 1891 onwards.
