Hi, Hope this post is in the right place :?

A Great Grandfather died in this accident, have found the Ministry of Transport report and the Railways Report but unable to find any personal stories relating to the accident that took place on Boxing Day 1962 when 18 people died.

Does anyone have anything on this?

Thanks
Deb

Thanks

I have found the ones you mention and BBC has only a couple of lines on it, I've tried some newspapers but they aren't of much use either, its just curiosity really but very frustrating not to be able to find anything else, his death certificate lists his injuries, quite horrific, must have been awful if he knew anything about it.

Hi Deb, see you live in Essex, but if it was me I would go up there and just ask around, the locals must remember it, 1962 wasn't too long ago. HTH from Linell.

Deb, you could also email the Staffordshire Newsletter which is the local paper, the Editor would publish your request for further information, save you coming up here, it is nice though, honest  Best Wishes from Linell.

actually that is a good idea or the archives as I notice the archives have many smaller publications on all manner of happenings
you never know someone might have put together an eyewitness account from others.
