right dont know who watch this tonight but i found it great viewing and agree with the same conclusion it was him so what happens next ?
as a king of england you would expect a full royal burial in one of our cathedrals proberly leicester, but will it happen and would our current royal family attend ?
my take on it is they should, no matter what history wrote about him, as history wrote by the victor, so he wasnt going to get any good press what so ever
what other people take on this did any one watch it

Just watched a program on Richard the Third King of England, and how they found his body in a car park in Leicester. It seems that after the battle of Bosworth his body was taken to a monastery ,and buried. This monastery was later demolished ,and built on. Over the centuries it had been more or less forgotten. A group of people raised the money and gained permission to dig the car park . It has now been proved that it is Richard . What they did not say is what they are going to do with the body . I think he should be buried in York Cathedral with honours due to a King Of England.

He is a Plantagenet King, belonging to the house of York . He deserves the best ,and that is York Minster. The only other place would be Westminster Abbey. He was born in Fotheringay castle. so I think he should be somewhere in the North.

I've just heard that Leicestershire County council are trying to claim £1,825,500 in unpaid parking fines from Richard The Turd's estate .

Very interesting programme. But don't forget, Richard was a Catholic, so would York Minster or Westminster Abbey be considered a suitable resting place for him now?

Henry VIII was Catholic. He only changed his religion, when he did not get his own way over his divorce from Catherine of Aragon .He still remained basically Catholic. It was not until Elizabeth I came to the throne that we went towards Prodestant. York minster was built in 1338, therefore in Richards time it would have been the religion of the time. He would have known it very well. In the English Reformation it was looted to remove all traces of catholicism, and that was during Elizabeth's Reigned.I still think it would be appropriate to bury him there. It would not be the first time when all religions have been brought together, and could be done again. Why should he be buried at Leicester Cathedral, its not good enough. also they left him buried in a car park, and it was only private money that got him out.

Yes, I know all that, DT! I was just questioning what is appropriate now, that's all. I've seen suggestions on other sites today that he should be interred in a Catholic Cathedral. I don't really mind, as I'm not religious anyway. But I do think he should have a burial befitting a King.

I agree . He deserves a burial fit for a king.

I do not think you understand what i mean ,He was not taken to York ,because he had just been defeated at Bosworth,so Henry VII was not bothered where they took him .His body was taken probably by monks to a burial inside a monastery that was later destroyed ,and the car park was built on the site. It has nothing to do with Leicester, where his remains should go now,and please don't shout at me, I have my opinion and you have yours.
