Scary sugar intake!

This kid is pushing 26KG of raw sugar in the wheelbarrow.
If you drink one 600ML can of fizzy drink a day, this is how much sugar you are consuming just from those drinks per year.
Add to the fact that most diets in the UK, U.S.A and Australia are carbohydrate heavy and the reason for the diabetes epidemic is obvious.
Scary!

600ml is a very large can, most of ours are either 250ml or 330ml. None of our close acquaintances (close enough to know their kind of diet) drink anything like that on a daily basis.

They have withdrawn the 300ML sizes from many countries. I can't recall when I last saw a 300ML Coke in Oz.
I bet if we calculated how much carbohydrate gets converted to sugar for your friends they would still be targets for diabetes.

I am diabetic and am the only one that my parents can ever recall being in the family for generations.
Diabetes is on the rise and has nothing to do with weight or genetics.
You consume too much sugar and your insulin production can't keep up.
You eat to many carbohydrates and they turn into sugar and your insulin production can't keep up.
On the way to eating your way to obesity you increase your sugar consumption and increase your chances of becoming diabetic.
So a lot of overweight people become diabetic but it is not their weight that caused it.
People were getting fat for thousands of years before diabetes entered the picture.
I just thought it was an interesting fact about how much sugar is consumed by just drinking fizzy drinks.
Not telling anybody what they should or should not do.
