It's ugly and horrible - words from my grandson Jonathan

It is very sad ,but they should not be allowed to buy or carry weapons at all. Sadly I think America is a lost cause when it comes to weapons,its a way of life for them,and this is the consequence. I am afraid for this country when I hear on the news about gangs,and how they get guns. Sad sad world Dt

What get's me is the americans who say "guns don't kill people, people kill people", and while I do admit they may be partly right, I also think that a knife would have killed fewer people! It is also an "up close and personal" way of killing - I suspect most people would have a really hard time if they had to get that close to their intended victims.
I can't get that they just can't see that without the guns, it would be so much more difficult to kill so many, so quickly. The fact that there is one of these school shootings a year in the US, should make the US wake-up.
The main difference between the US and Europe seems to be the gun laws, so the solution seems like a no brainer. I know it would take years to reduce the number of guns in the US, but it would, in my opinion, eventually make a difference.

They can keep their guns, like we can in Australia, just not semi and full automatic.

You will still get shooting deaths but not in the huge number they manage to do in minutes.

That is what Obama will be pushing and it can work because it did in Australia.
