Only a couple of years since the old Brewery on the side of the canal went up in flames - Had another massive fire today - for those of you who remember the Alcohols Chemical Company - there's probably nothing left by now :

Isn't that just over the road from the previous fire?
Terrible.
What about if Albright and Wilsons caught fire(sorry Rhoda)?
I remember when The Midland Tar went up in flames. We could see the fire from the top of Grafton Road!!

Yes Rob - they are very close together - think I'll be moving soon, just in case
My daughter in law came round mine this morning, and she could see the smoke from Halesowen
Hope Rhodia never goes up - that could be even worse. I remember a few years back when I was living in Pound Road, the chimney blew off the top of the main stack in Rhodia - don't think they ever found it. It was on a summer evening and we had guests around for dinner, I had laid the outside table because it was still warm. Police cars were driving around warning everyone to keep their windows closed, so we had to stay inside and boil.
