Hello,

I am a library administrator and enjoy doing genealogy on my off time. I'm hitting one of my lines from the UK pretty hard right now and hope to get through some brick walls. I'll be joining the folks over in the Black Country section to do some research on the surnames Burgess, Dunn, Marsh, and Palmer.

I'm thrilled to find this great forum!

When I checked the Black Country tree yesterday it looked like you had the same holes I did. I'll post a detailed question in that forum and i would love any help you can offer. I'll also look at the tree parameters and see what is acceptable to add.

I did find a very interesting article on Findmypast the other day quoting my 5th greatgrandfather's (Richard Burgess) testimony in a court case. It seemed to have some family connections, but was a bit garbled and i'm still trying to untangle it...got my research juices flowing!

I've a couple of Burgesses in my tree, although they originate from Birmingham rather than the Black Country.
