Linell has just had a breakdown of her washing machine , and mine broke down two weeks ago . I ordered my hopefully get it soon new washing machine, and was told it will take two weeks to be delivered. They phoned me today to say I can now expect it to be delivered on the 14 December. What's the matter with manufacturers today.I am so unhappy

Out with the washboard and soap then!
The exercise will do you good!
Just don't get your hand caught in the mangle if you use one.
I remember doing that as a kid

Flipping Washing Machines indeed! Mine turned out to be ok, thanks to my wonderful hubby, it was the Filter that needed a clean, he pulled the Washer out and took the Filter off - phew all ok again now, I am a Washing freak & don't know how I would manage without it. Glad you found one locally DT you cannot beat Local Service can you. Dread the day nine does pack up though! Sure it wasn't such a problem for our Grandmothers either

Sorry Rob , Not usually so vocal, but as you know our washing machines mean alot to us,and we go into panic mode without them. Any way all is well now .A nice new model sits under my kitchen counter. Bought and delivered today by my small but local Electrical shop where i should have gone in the first place.

Especially when he's an electrician! Ours had a funny last summer, it took my husband half a day to find our that one of the little plugs that attachted to a print card had worked itself loose - hate to think what it would have cost if we'd have had someone come and look at it!!!
He even "fixed" my parents washing machine over the phone.
Last week our oven blew the circuit breakers, as one of the elements was knackered, just as I was about to put the lasagne in the oven. Luckily I'd done a small portion and the dish fitted in our combi microwave, and we hadn't got guests coming over!!
