Levi WELLINGS, Edward JOHNSON

Levi WELLINGS was born 26 Oct 1852 at Rowley Regis, County of Stafford. He married Lucy JOHNSON 19 May 1872 Parish of S.Edmund Dudley.
Levi's parents were George WELLINGS and Sarah GREEN - George was born 1817 in Stanton, Shropshire. George and Sarah were married 28 April 1845 in the Parish Church, Parish of Dudley in the County Worcester.
George's parents were William WELLINGS and Ann JERVIS. They were married by Banns 12 December 1803
Sarah's father according to marriage cert. Joseph GREEN he was Nail Factor. I have no idea who her mother was.
I have more information and certificates of birth and marriage. Also children, not all I am sure, especially when Levi and Lucy were still living in England. I have a feeling they might have had other children besides Lilly and Flora before coming to the U.S. and having two more. That I would really like to know.
Lucy JOHNSON was born 10 Jul 1848 Dudley. Her parents were Edward JOHNSON and Mary BILLINGHAM.
This is enough for the first time, until I have questions from someone who has the same interests. Hope to hear.

Alice

Hi Alice

Have moved this post to our Black Country section.

I will add some of this to the Black Country Connections tree some of us are involved in.
To find out about that click on my web link on this posting of mine.

We can I am sure help you with any missing bits you need.

Might be an idea if you add your surnames to the surnames interest section too

Nl,
This also connects to my Hipkiss line as Sarah a daughter of George & Sarah Wellings married John Hipkiss.
Another child of George & Sarah i.e. Joseph married an Eva Yates a daughter of Pardoe Yates who was manager/owner of Wilton/Axminster Carpet Factory in Wilts.
I have already passed on a lot of info. to Linell but obviously Alice may be interested and she appears to have more info on Wellings line.
Joseph Wellings who married Eva Yates broke out of usual Nail Making /Chain Making etc. and became a Methodist Minister and married into a well to do family.
Neither Linell or myself have put in details of Yates Family as they are mostly Wiltshire although Yates ancestors originally were Carpet Weavers from Kidderminster. From these lowly beginnings Yates family finally ended up in a large house with servants in London whilst still owning and managing Carpet Factory

That is really interesting reading mumbles.
Please do feel free to enter this on Connections if they link by blood or marriage to any on the tree already.
We only say that one ancestor has to start in the Black country and then where ever the tree weaves to is fine.
