Longest time in one place...

Researching my wife's tree and came across a Stokes family who lived at the same address in Alfrick, Worcestershire from 1622 to 1930!!!

The last of this line of Stokes left Alfrick in 1937 and some of them ended up in Oz.

My Cutler, Ford and Homer lines move a few miles in 300 years but that has to be rare to live at same address for over 300 years!!!

That's a long time, but didn't the Earl of Dudleys family live at the castle from the 11th century until about 1750?......

The Woodhouse family in Wombourne lived in the same house for many centuries too - the house is still there , but they're not.

Is that that house up on way to Baggeridge?
What is the story with that one is that where they are supposed to have come from all our Woodhouses?
Is the house a private house or National trust?

There are some notes about it on BCC if you follow the line back to the earlier generations, and yes, think all the Woodhouses are from there (certainly the local ones) including the ones who settled in Rowley Regis.
