Have been looking at this couple and have a few questions:
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... ice-Family

Firstly, I can only see one baptism for a William Cole - 31 March 1734 son of Edward & Diana (Rowley Regis) : is this him?

There are two possible bapts for a Mary Price:
29 July 1722 dau of John & Mary Price ('but they belong to Hales p.')
5 Dec 1731 dau of Joseph & Sarah Price.

There was another Mary bapt 13 May 1722 dau of Mary Price (bur 20 Jan 1722/3 - so not her)

Then we have two marriages for a Mary Price:
24 Aug 1752 to William Cole.
and 17 Apr 1752 to Benjamin Bate - on BCC here:
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... ice-Family (my ancestors, by the way).
I have found the burial for this Mary Price 19 Sept 1792 Mary wife of Benjamin Bate, Dropsy, 58 yrs. This would make her born around 1734, so the date is 2-3 years out if she was bapt 1731- not entirely out of the bounds of possibility.
Can anyone see a burial for a Mary Cole of the right age (I have the registers to 1812 and cant see it - so possibly after 1812).
If after 1812 it should, hopefully give her age.

Should have added for the sake of completeness - the burial for Benjamin Bate:
' 15 Apr 1812 Benjamin Bate, 79, rheumatic gout.'
so his age matches as he was bapt 10 Dec 1732.

-in fact, most of the ages given in the register that I can confirm seem to be quite accurate, so Benjamin Bate's wife is probably not the one bapt 1731 - would just like to confirm the 1731 Mary Price is the one who married William Cole............

Thank you FarSide.

That one looks too young, so it looks like we're a bit stuck here...........

Wonder which age is correct - if she was 87 that's still about two years out for that baptism. She obviously wasn't around to argue, and I have seen far worse inaccuracies chiselled on gravestones. But.... We have one baptism and two Marys: one two years to old if that age is correct, and one three years to young - there are two possibilities locally for the younger one (at Kingswinford and Himley) no other info so still a dead end.
Were the 1816 registers destroyed in the fire or did the originals survive ( I know some did but can't remember which dates)?

Yes, I realised that, which is why I asked whether that register survived the 1913 fire.
