We have looked at this chap recently but just came across some extra info. which is too good to waste ....

I have now come across his service records under the 'pension records'
There is quite alot on him ... including copy of a telegram sent to his wife, records concerning the accident which ultimately led to his death ( he was hit by a French lorry while riding his motorcycle and sustained serious head injuries) and other paperwork following his death.
There is a heartbreaking list of effects returned to his widow ... including 'one watch - broken'

Then there is a statement of relatives still living .... drawn up 17 Dec 1919

- his mother Sarah Sidaway, 30 High St, Cradley

- his brother William Barnsley, aged 32 of 56 Lomer Town, Cradley Heath
