Fanthoms of Langley & Oldbury

Post by daljul »

I am helping a friend with her ancestry and her grandmother was Mary Ann Fanthom born 1875 in Langley. She died in Blackpool in 1943 She was living with Elias Arndt otherwise known as Ernest Arnold.

Mary Ann's parents were William Fanthom & Hannah Shaw and her siblings were William, George, Phoebe, Amy & Annie.

Do any of these names mean anything to anyone. If so please contact me to exchange information

regards

Julie

Thank you for everyone trying to help with the Fanthom family.

I will check this against what I have and take it from there. I would like to know if anyone else is researching this family.

Might be an idea to go to the surnames section and add your name of interest to there
in this format

FANTHOMS (and variants) - Oldbury and Langley- daljul

then one of the mods can add it to the list for you

Hello Julie

I have added some Fanthoms to our Black Country Connections Tree. Unfortunately, these families are the only ones I have been able to add - they're a little bit removed from my core family. If you do find any marriages in the Oldbury/Langley/Warley area, which have been registered in Stourbridge, but don't appear on the West Midlands BMD site, it's a good bet that they took place in Christchurch, Quinton. The records for this church are held in Birmingham Archives.

Good luck with your search - Maggie :-)

Hello List

I just wanted to let you know that I lost my 64 year old sister
to lung cancer yesterday. She is the reason why I got involved in this
research doing family trees and to help the MacMillan charity.

I am sure you will understand if I am not in touch for a week or so
but will get back to list and answer your responses to my enquiry as soon as I can.

regards

Julie
