Thankyou for all that info. Mark

This is probably a really daft question .... but is Walsall included in the Black Country? (tried to find out from the internet and there seems to be some debate!
..if so, I will add this info. to BCC

If you believe the boundary of the Black Country follows the "thirty foot" coal seam then parts of Walsall are not in the Black Country, but neither are parts of Stourbridge or Wolverhampton!

So I believe that if any town is crossed by the thirty foot seam then it must be part of the Black Country, otherwise we would have tos tart looking at maps to see if people were born within the boundaries of the seam.

So the entire Walsall must be included as part of the Black Country otherwise we would have to divide Wolverhampton as well!!
