Well I had a great night!
Hope that everyone else did too!
Thanks to all those that came along it was fantastic to meet
you all and have a chat with you and finally put faces to names!
The Bell and Bear at Gorsty Hill did us proud I think so thanks to them too!
We should have one every year now and Sp1 may organise the next one eh Steve?
That would be good if every year someone else organises a different venue etc.
Anyway thanks again
off to sober up

It was nice to get over to The Black Country and kind of walk in the footsteps of my ancestors.
Nice to meet some people too, although I don't generally post that frequently on the forum - apart from when I have a mystery that I need to solve, and then its generally concentrated within a short space of time.
For me I got the opportunity to go to St Thomas' Parish Church in Dudley as that is where one of my earlier ancestors got married - although I have to say I imagine it was less run down then as it is now. Its a shame that it has been allowed to decay, not the church but the surrounding area.
I also got to go to Quinton where my family are from - and although all that is left is the Church and School, it was nice because the last record I have of my family in Quinton is of the 3 children being registered at the school. So to see it still standing was quite a thrill.
I'm sure I will be back as I want to dig some more around the area and maybe photograph what is there now, and how different it has become.

Oh and thanks for the lift back down the mountain, it was quite a trek up that hill.
