THe first one was perfect music to commit suicide by....

I like the Lobo one. Nothing beats a good singer and accoustic guitar.

The weather is really depressing me so am trying to avoid music that makes me sad. I'm still a bit of a rocker, despite my advancing years and over the last year have been aware of a band name of Train. Their latest song is, for me, a brilliant anti-dote to the weather and gets me dancing and singing, every time it comes on the radio. Thought I'd have a look at the video yesterday, as the lead singer has been doing The Tracks of His Years on Ken Bruce, all week and he sounds such a nice character. I hadn't realised it's also meant to be funny and includes a guest appearance by The Hoff. It has some great lines not normally heard in songs like "How could you leave on Yom Kippur?"

My pride still feels the sting
You were my everything
Someday I'll find a love like yours (a love like yours)
She'll think I'm super man
Not super mini van
how could you leave on Yom Kippur?
That's cool, but if my friends ask where you are
I'm gonna say:

Chorus:
She went down in airplane
Fried getting suntanned
Fell in a cement mixer full of quick sand
Help me, help me, I'm no good at goodbye
She met a shark on the water
Fell and no one caught her
I returned everything I ever bought her
Help me, help me, I'm all out of lies
And ways to say goodbye!
She was caught in a mudslide
Eaten by a lion
Got run over by a crappy purple Scion
Help me, help me, I'm no good at goodbye
She got lost in the desert
drowned in a hot tub
Danced to death in an eastside nightclub
Help me, help me, I'm all out of lies
And ways to say you died!

 What's that mean Lu? "I'm still a bit of a rocker despite my advancing years"!! How strange.
Not the fact that you are "a bit of a rocker" but the idea that this has to do with age!!

Well, most people I know, of my age, seem to have developed rather a 'stuck in the mud' attitude to music and don't like anything new. I am the first to admit, I don't like Rap style music but I do like a lot of contemporary stuff. So is getting stuck in the mud an age thing, or is it that they are just boring anyway and closed their minds to anything new? I think the day I stop trying new things, is the day they put me in my coffin.
