Firstly I would like to say hello to you all, and thank you for this invitation to join your genealogy forum. I am new to researching, although my husband has been researching his side of the family for many years, but I have not been able to get any further than my grandparents, until recently a cousin in the UK has just started his side of the family, and has been able to furnish me with some details, so I have a start at least. We have already lost most of our earlier generation except my 87 year old mother, who's memory is fading with time, so I want to record as much information as I can as time is not on our side.
We are trying to research the GILBERT circa 1866 & HARRISON circa 1866, family on my fathers side, and the LIDGARD & SPEED, family on my mothers side. It has been on my fathers side of the family that I have had the greater difficulty because of the common names. The family came from Hazel Street, in Hulme, Manchester, Lancashire.
I am looking forward to researching, with renewed enthusiasm, and look forward to a long and encouraging association.
once again I thank you for this opportunity Cheers.
