Hi all please help

My great grand father Henry Corbitt Elliott born 19th January 1874 North Sunderland, Northumberland mother is turning out to be a mystery for me. I have his birth cert his mothers name is down as Catherine Elliott (no fathers name) but all the census around that time (1881 & 1874) is claiming his mother is Ellen the sister. Can someone please help me with my puzzle :?

Is this the census? This does not suggest that Ellen was Henry's mother -- only that he is Eleanor's grandson -- he could be the son of Catherine, Ellen or indeed of another daughter/son of Eleanor not living with them on this census --

1881 No Sunderland, Sunderland North
ELLIOTT, Eleanor Head Widow F 67 1814 Ag Lab No Sunderland, Northumberland
ELLIOTT, Catherine Daughter Single F 27 1854 Ag Lab No Sunderland, Northumberland
ELLIOTT, Ellen Daughter Single F 25 1856 Ag Lab No Sunderland, Northumberland
ELLIOTT, Henry C Grand Son Single M 7 1874 Scholar No Sunderland, Northumberland

Don't see what your problem is, you have the Birth Certificate, mother is Catherine.
