Have just found a distant connection to the Daintys which are on BCC (they all seem to be the same family - connected to Linnel!)
Whenever I see this name I think of 'Billy' - the name isn't that common locally so had a quick look on Google ( am surprised he's not on BCC):

His full name was William Hooper Frank John Dainty, born 22 Feb 1927 in Wolverhampton St., Dudley, where his parents had a shop called Hoopers. (He died 18 Nov 1986).

Had a quick look and found:
m 1925 St James, Dudley, Edwin F Dainty/ Florence V Hooper 202/015/149
Right date and area, so looks promising.

I will start adding, but probably won't be able to complete until the weekend.

I remember seeing him in several Pantomimes at the Hippodrome, as the dame. He was brilliant.
