*Arc tbc* --Rupert HUMPAGE - Baptism record??

Rupert Humpage is currently my 'Brick Wall' ancestor - very frustrating!!!
I'm desparately trying to find out who his parents were. He's my Gtx4 Grandfather who was born in about 1776. He was buried on 23rd April 1837 at the age of 61 and was buried at St Matthew's Church in Walsall, Staffordshire, England - he was living in Adam's Row, Walsall at the time. I have his marriage record to Esther PARKES dated 1st November 1802 also at St. Matthew's Church (though his surname is spelt HUMPACH). I have the Walsall Penny Dole Records covering 1799-1823, which lists the heads of household who received the penny dole each Christmas for each occupant (everybody living in Walsall at this period in time received this)- Rupert is listed as a head of household between 1806-1812, there were no HUMPAGE's listed as head of household before Rupert's marriage year which suggests to me that he wasn't born in Walsall but possibly either Darlaston, Birmingham or Wolverhampton which had HUMPAGE families at the time.
Can anybody out there help me

Hi.
IGI has three kids baptised to Wm and Elizabeth Humpage, Bridge St Ind. Walsall, 1795 - 1800. Names Elizabeth, Rhoda and William. William may be the one on the 1841 as a bucklemaker?
Perhaps we could find more about william and Elizabeth?

I'm finding these children for Rupert and Esther - Thomas 1816 - 1819, Joseph 1835, John 1822, Esther 1811, Mary 1819, Eleanor 1828, Rupert 1813 and William 1808.
Using the Idea that first son is named after father's father - there is a WIlliam and Mary Humpage having children at the right time for Rupert's birth
Francis b Oct 31, Blymhill, STF - Rebecka Aug 19 1781, St Peter's Worc.
I would check either of those registers for a mispelled entry
There is also a Thomas couple and a John couple having children is the right place and time - possible fathers of Rupert since he named a son that. Same drill - check out the parish registers for a mispelled entry

Thanks to everybody for the help with Rupert Humpage and his family.
It does appear that the witness to Rupert's marriage D Lightwood is his brother-in-law. Esther Parkes (Parks) was the daughter of Ephraim Parkes and had a sister called Mary (c1777).
I'll let you all know if I find out for certain who Rupert's parents were.
Once again thanks for all the help, hints and tips,
FTF

Is this still a Brick Wall?
Or have you solved it?
Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to archived section
