Hi, I have managed to trace my Mother's Talbot line back to James Talbot 1738-1801 M. Phyllis Mattews 1734-1801 they were at the Coach and Horses in Cradley Forge. James' Father was a Philip Talbot and his mother Catharine - I have not been able to find any records for Phil or Cath, just wondered if anyone had any ideas of where to go next. Thanks for reading this, Loma.

Nothing for any Talbots in the Cradley Court Rolls, Wills or Land Tax records. Did find this entry in the Old Swinford Parish Apprentice Records:-

(432) 1767 Mary Rotshey Apprenticed to Philip Talbot from The Lye, as Housekeeper to Forgeman.

There was no Parish Church in Cradley before 1800, just some Non Conformist Chapels. There are a lot of Baptism's, Marriages and Burials for Cradley families in the Halesowen/Old Swinford/Clent Parish Records.

You say that James and Phyllis Talbot died 1801 :?: Where were they buried, do you have any record of their burials :?

HTH Linell.

A lot of those burials on th IGI arn't always correct.
Just guess mates by Mormon researchers.
There is a marriage on the IGI in 1801 for Phyllis Talbot
To a Richard Cartwright??
