ARC TBC - William Collard and Elizabeth Slocombe

I am researching the Collard name, which was my grandfather's surname.
He did a lot of research, and got back to William Collard b. circa 1712 in Taunton, (probably North Petherton, where his wife Elizabeth Slocombe was born in c.1710).
William and Elizabeth had six children:
Richard b.c. 1735
Betty b. 1740
William b. 1744 d. 1750
John b. 1745
Eleanor b. 1747
William b. 1749
Later generations of the family were from (amongst others) Wiveliscombe, Taunton itself (some were married at St Mary Magdelene, Taunton) and Milbourne Port, before my Granddad's Grandfather brought the family up to Blindley Heath, Surrey in about 1910.
I am aware that the Collard name is very common in Somerset, particularly Bristol, and, from what I can deduce, there was at least one other (seemingly unrelated) Collard family living in Wiveliscombe at the same time that my Collards lived there.
I did come across a William Collard, born 1712 in Taunton, and married to a Mary Farthing http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/us ... GENEO1.pdf the other day, which I've been thinking about. It is possible that this is the same William, but my William was married in September 1734 at St Mary Magdalene, Taunton.
