Some general advice?

Hi , I am new to the forum so be gentle? :P

I have always been interested in this subject ,as have many people , but I am now being plunged into it ,having been asked to provide death certificates for 6 of a Bowling Clubs trustees , because we are attempting to install 3 new ones . This is to generally a tidy up , with what has been left over time , and to satisfy the Land Registry too!

Ihave been searching for one death date , for a Frances Marjorie Lansley who went on to become Lomas by marriage .

I have found a lady Lansley born in Dec 1917 , in the town 3 miles from where she lived , and ths fits in with time line , however she is recorded as having died aged 62 in 79-80 , in Reading and Berkshire.
My question is , would she not have been recorded by her married name on the record for death or is this a two way thing , either or ?

Also ,a village elder here remebers her going and living in Cornwall, and I have a listing for a Frances Marjorie Lansley in Sheviock ,Cornwall ,as a burial ,but no date . Is there an easy way to find that date , or do I need to ring ,visit to chech parish ,church records ?

Thanks for having me , and if you have some tips ,thanks again!!

I would normally say she would be registered under her married name, but if she divorced, maybe she reverted to her maiden name.
Another thourght is that she remarried - it's maybe worth searching for a marriage using her (first) married name, and then a death using the new married name.
