Directories for Tipton

I am seeking help from anyone who might have directories for the Tipton area please.....
My ancestor Henry Ward is shown on the 1911 census as being the publican of the Miners Arms
public house, 56 Owen Street, Tipton. I have no idea when he actually started his term as publican
there (he wasn"™t there in his 1901 census entry) & I do not know the extent of his time there either
other than to say that I know that he was still there in 1914.
If anyone has any directories that could expand on the knowledge of his time at the Miners Arms
pub I would be most grateful to know about it please.
Thank you.

There"™s a photo on Tony Hitchmough"™s web site http://www.longpull.co.uk/intro.html of the Miners Arms. If you contact Sandwell Archives http://www.sandwell.gov.uk/archives they have CDs of Tony"™s Black Country Pubs which cover their area. I"™m not sure what the CDs contain, but you could ask the Archives if they hold any Pub Register of Licensees for the Miners Arms for the years you want.

In the 1911 census I found that my great grandparents were living in a Pub in Pensnett, so I visited Dudley Archives and fortunately for me, they still had the Pub Register of Licensees for that area. The information was in a large book and gave the day, date and year of when my great grandfather was the licensee and the transfer date of when the next person took over the pub. Again, fortunate for me, I took a photo of the pub before it was demolished.
