I'm brand new to the site having stumbled upon it by mistake!
Would like to find out some info to fill in the gaps for my Grandad who knows very little about his background.

My Great Grandad was William Henry Hughes he lived at 23 Club Row Gornal with his Father and Mother who now seem to be William and Sarah Ann and that's where I am at!!

I'm also trying to find some info on my great grandmother's side.
Her mother was Harriet Hancox who owned a chip shop in Gornal and had a house built with a large H on the side.
We think she had my great grandmother illegitimately but not sure??!

Any info would be greatly appreciated by this novice!

William Henry Hughes was born 1898 so not sure why he wasn't on the 1901 also on 1911 he was listed as Michael although I have now found out he was sometimes referred to as 'Mick'
